We updated the 2026 AlaskaVoter Guide for the general election. Alaska Beacon worked with Anchorage Daily News, Alaska Public Media and KTOO to bring you all the information you need on candidates, races, and important dates.

We hope you’ll find it useful, and consider supporting our work.

The U.S. Department of Energy said on Monday that it has approved $150 million to partially fund a second electrical intertie between Southcentral Alaska and the Interior.

When built, the Beluga-Healy Transmission Project would result in a redundant power link between Fairbanks and Anchorage, increasing the ability of power companies to use the cheapest electricity possible, even if it’s coming from the opposite end of the railbelt.

Alaskans seeking an appeal may provide additional documentation of damages including receipts and bills for eligible repairs, repair receipts from contractors or repair services, proof of ownership or other information to substantiate an appeal.

As Alaska heads into the general election, the Alaska Beacon, Alaska Public Media, KTOO and the Anchorage Daily News have an updated voter guide. Just like we did for the primary election, we worked together to build a guide to help Alaskans make informed choices when they vote, and you can find it in the same place as our guide for the primary election.

If you’ve found our Voter Guide valuable, please consider supporting the Alaska Beacon today.
